Har Sinai - Oheb Shalom Congregation is the combination of two historic Reform synagogues working together to create one joyful, warm, inclusive, and socially conscious congregation. HSOSC seeks a dynamic development professional who values relationship-based fundraising to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Rabbi, Cantor, Executive Director, Development Committee and Board of Trustees to design and lead the implementation of a comprehensive and sustainable development plan.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience working with volunteers, a strong understanding and familiarity of the Baltimore Jewish community and is team oriented. High energy, poise and positivity are crucial to the success of this position. We are looking for a candidate who is detail-oriented, flexible, has excellent communication skills and is eager and open to learning.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design a comprehensive development plan that includes short-term and long-term goals.
• Coordinate with Senior Rabbi, Development Committee co-chairs and Executive Director to maximize opportunities with current and prospective donors.
• Develop appropriate systems, processes, policies and procedures that govern all aspects of the development program.
• Ensure donor stewardship cultivates deeper ties with donors and recognition is appropriate for all constituent groups.
• Lead annual appeal and end-of-year giving.
• Staff Development Committee.
• Use a CRM database to ensure accuracy of donor information.
• Participate in meetings to coordinate efforts and facilitate communication within and between departmental teams.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred.
• Five years of nonprofit fundraising experience, preferably in Jewish communal work.
• Demonstrated understanding of fundraising strategies for nonprofit and/or congregational organizations.
• Interest, enthusiasm and affinity for fundraising.
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent multi-tasking skills and attention to detail: capable of following through on every task no matter how big or small.
• Must be flexible and possess strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects.
